FIESTA chairman Gary Baker took the alliance’s message to the airwaves last week appearing as a guest on the Foyne Jones Show, a weekly podcast run by Foyne Jones managing director Peter Jones.
In the latest of the podcast’s survival series, Gary talks to Peter about the Furniture and Interiors Education, Skills and Training Alliance, why it was set up and the steps the alliance has taken to ease the recruitment process of apprentices for the trade through the launch of Skills Plus.
With many businesses dealing with the affects of COVID-19, Gary elaborates on how apprenticeships will be a very effective regeneration tool for businesses to acclimate to the ‘new normal’.
The 50 minute podcast originally aired on 29 May but it is available to download on iTunes, Spotify and via the Foyne Jones website.
